I guess... after a certain point, we all eventually adapt our idiosyncratic ways to cope with our life... and, perhaps, eventually, commonalities emerge (and, of course, before da terminal aloneness thing)... despite of the paths once diverted.... sort of like da simple regression to the mean.... all else but error variances-- essential fluctuations--- that makes up our unique life?
